Bible Reading Plan

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. — Hebrews 4:12

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17

God’s word is powerful. It’s one of the primary ways that He reveals Himself to us. He wants us to know Him. The more time that we spend in His presence submitted to Him, the more He has His way in our hearts transforming us to be more like Him.

Allow God to have His way in your life. Spend time in His word. Pray. Recognize that you are not right and that He Is. As we spend time in the word, He washes us (Ephesians 5:26) and transforms us (Romans 12:2).

Features of this plan:

  • Switches back and forth between the Old Testament and the New Testament
  • Reads completely through one book before moving on to the next, so you don’t lose context
  • This is just a loose, low-stress pacing guide. Don’t worry if you don’t or can’t follow it exactly.

Food for thought:

  • It takes less time to read the Bible than to read the Harry Potter series.
